There’s nothing like a one day tour marathon in 3 towns. For the mad dash from Monaco to Nice to Cannes, here’s what we saw:
First stop was at the Oceanographic Museum which is devoted to marine science. It was founded by famous ocean scientist Jacques-Yves Cousteau.

Next was Monaco St. Nicholas Cathedral (now called the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception) where Prince Rainer and Princess Grace Kelly got married (and where they are now buried).

Carlo Harbor in La Condamine is where the rich and famous dock their yachts. It can accommodate up to 500 vessels.

Because Monaco holds a Formula 1 Grand Prix every year, most shops (even the ones in the small side streets) sell race merchandise.

The Prince’s Palace of Monaco is the big highlight. It is open to the public only from June to October.

After Monaco, the next stop was Nice where we had lunch and did some shopping near Promenade des Anglais – the beachy tourist spot.

After that, it was quick drive to Cannes. We went to the theatre of the Cannes Film Festival called the Palais des Festivals et des Congres. Its casino and red carpet have seen many glamorous celebrities in its long history.

This particular mad dash was a tad too fast. I would spend more time here in the future, especially at the palace. See the full 10-day itinerary here.
